Build A Niche Store (BANS) is an interesting looking script that lets you make sites to generate income through the eBay affiliate program. In case you're not familiar with it, eBay does in fact have their own affiliate program that's been around for a few years, where you get a cut of the eBay fees if you refer a user who buys something. The BANS script automatically shows items on eBay on your site, so if someone on your site clicks through to an eBay item and buys it, you get a cut of the eBay fees through eBay's affiliate program.
Anyways, the BANS site looks pretty neat at first glance. The website goes through the features of the BANS script, gives case studies, testimonials and more. Here's a screenshot of the site as of September 25th, 2008:
What general internet users had to say about BANS
First off, we found this review from ShoeMoney.com, a well known blogger. ShoeMoney goes through how he has installed BANS for his shoemoneyshoes.com site. According to him, BANS is "some really SWEET software" and is worth getting.
Then, there is this review of BANS on DigitalPoint. This is kind of an old thread (Dec 11th 2007), but it's definitely worth reading through. The thread starter states that BANS is "easy, it works, and it makes money". Other users in that thread agree that BANS is a good piece of software.
There is another 10 page thread on DigitalPoint where the original poster asks if he should buy BANS. Most people in that that thread recommend BANS, saying that it is a good piece of software.
On searching Google, we found this review by Scott Prock. He also like BANS, saying that "BANS is a great place to start building a great business as an eBay affiliate".
Also, there is this guy (Max Davis) who says BANS is responsible for a $222.73/hour income. An affiliate link to BANS is included here, so this review has a little less weight, but it is definitely worth looking at as a case study -- and proof that BANS sites work.
However, there was also some fairly negative feedback here. This was when BANS was first released (in December 2006). They claim that the software is "unnecessary", unless you are a newbie. That's really up to you.

Since it was released around 2 years ago and has (according to the BANS homepage) over 9,000 users, the BANS script is quite well known, and there was a lot of feedback on it around the web. Like any popular product, it has some negative feedback. However, the majority of feedback and reviews for it are very positive, and it does seem to be a very good product. If you are interested in driving revenue through eBay's affiliate program we would therefore highly recommend it.
